As always, the Aurae team has been busy making houses look good throughout 2023. From assisting with design and compliance to completing fabrication and installation, we have plenty to celebrate as we approach the end of the year.
In this article, we highlight a few projects we are particularly proud to have worked on this year. From fixed louvres and pergolas to louvre roofs and canopies, find all the inspiration you need for your next project.
1. Ryman Cambridge
Products: Fixed-blade pergolas, Horizon canopies.
This Cambridge project is a great example of how canopies and louvres can elevate exterior design. For this new Ryman Healthcare retirement village, it was important to achieve a sense of harmony and community while still maintaining individuality for each home.
By installing our pergolas and Horizon canopies, we were able to add texture and dimension to the buildings, as well as shelter and shade control.
2. Omahina Street
Products: Solaris XL Louvre Roof, Solaris 110 vertical manually operable louvres.
Working with Furze Architecture + Design, this residential project on the Rangitahi Peninsula was a team favourite. Deciding to incorporate manually operable louvres to two sides of the louvre roof was an inspired choice, providing privacy whilst retaining the stunning views of nearby Raglan.
3. Paewhenua Island
Products: Solaris louvre roof & frame
At 21 metres long, this giant louvre roof is the largest roof we have ever made! Working with the Brackebush Builders and the architects at Dawson Design, we supplied a Solaris louvre roof and frame to maximise shade control. This enhances outdoor living for this luxury bach located on the sunny Mangōnui Harbour.
4. Remuera Road
Products: Solaris 110 clasp-fixed louvres
Working with Matz Architects and David Reid Homes, the Aurae team supplied and installed fixed louvres from the Solaris range. We love the way these louvres integrate with the different cladding styles, adding depth to the exterior of these Remuera townhouses.
5. Richmond Residential Development
Products: Horizon canopies with Caldera 88 louvred side screen, Solaris 200 window shrouds.
For this multi-residential project in Mt Wellington, we partnered with Wilshire developers, Context Architects, Capri Construction, and GJ Gardner Manukau Major. To encourage a sense of cohesion, these homes feature a range of Aurae products, including window shrouds, horizon canopies with side screens, eyebrow louvres, and custom screening.
Together, these exterior features contribute to the development's unique character, uniting numerous buildings with different cladding styles and colours.
6. Swanson Road
Products: Solaris clip canopies
In 2023, we enjoyed working with Precision Construction on multiple housing projects for Kāinga Ora. For this Swanson Road development designed by Young + Richards architects, the Solaris clip canopy provides a cost-effective and simple shelter to go above the sliding doors.
At their end-of-year event, we were also honoured to be recognised for our contribution – a big thank you to the Precision Construction team!
