This new property was built by the sea in picturesque Paroa Bay, Bay of Islands. The owners wanted to make the most of their surroundings, so required a covered outdoor area where they could sit and take in the beautiful bay views.

Challenge

Aurae was contracted to provide a complete covered roof, pergola system. The design included a freestanding opening roof with blinds and heaters to enable the owners to enjoy their outdoor living area all-year-round. This was no mean feat as the support structure had to be custom designed to conceal the blinds, when they weren't in use.

Solution

We successfully designed, supplied and installed the pergola structure, opening roof louvres, blinds and heaters to the architect’s specification (Architex) and owner’s requirements. The end result is a functional outdoor space that is not only aesthetically appealing but provides the owner with all-year-round use.
