Challenge

While the site offered breathtaking views, it was also exposed to harsh Central Otago conditions: intense summer sun, sudden rainfall, and seasonal shifts in weather. The homeowners wanted an outdoor area that maximised comfort and functionality without compromising on design.

Solution

We supplied a Solaris opening louvre roof system that allows the homeowners to control sunlight and airflow with ease. The addition of an integrated rain sensor ensures the roof automatically closes at the first sign of rain, protecting outdoor furniture and keeping the area dry.

The result is a versatile outdoor room that seamlessly connects with the home’s architecture and enables the owners to enjoy their lakefront setting in comfort — whether under the summer sun or during unexpected rain showers.
