Tramcar Bay Project | Louvre Roof & Aluminium Panels

Challenge

Located in a small settlement on the shores of the Whangateau Harbour, outdoor living was a key part of the new home’s design, right from the beginning phases. As the property would be situated just metres from the waterline, it was important for the owners to have a relaxing area to sit and watch boats sailing by.

However, on the eastern side of the house, The House Company needed a way to maximise sunlight and warmth during the evenings. The owners wanted to utilise their outdoor area, at any time of day.

Solution

We worked with The House Company to provide a number of louvre solutions, that would maximise the owners’ use of outdoor areas, all while adding aesthetics, privacy and weather protection. Right from the design phase through to supply and installation, we were able to provide a complete package, removing all the hard work from the designer, builder, and owner.

First, an Aurae Solaris opening louvre roof was installed over the deck. With the ability to open the louvres and let sunlight in for most of the day, the owners can also close the louvres at their leisure to keep unfavourable weather out. The perfect solution which provides a usable space at any time of day.

A wall louvre panel was also designed for the road-facing windows of the main seating area and master ensuite to ensure privacy from passers-by, as well as shade from the evening sun. All panels are on hinges which enables easy care of the windows and cladding behind.
