Nestled in the lakeside town of Taupo, this architectural home designed by Kelvin Peck Architecture oozes style and modern charm.

Challenge

For any house that features a lot of glass and windows, a big challenge can be temperature control and sun shading. Making this house more functional while not taking away from the modern design was paramount. We needed to come up with a facade solution that was practical and would add to the aesthetic of this home. 

Solution

We worked with the architect to provide sliding shutters for the exterior of the property to add more functionality, as well as a design statement. Our Aurora 180mm louvres were used in sliding panels across the side of the house.

Along with being an eye-catching feature, the panels can be moved to provide privacy and sun shade for either inside the house or the outdoor area. The panels were also fitted with latches to enable the shutters to be fixed at pre-set positions.
