Project
This cafe is situated on the banks of the stunning Lake Wanaka, nestled in the deep south of Otago, New Zealand. The cafe required a form of shelter for the outdoor seating area.

Challenge
Set in a stunning location, the cafe owners wanted their customers to be able to enjoy the outdoor seating area (and the beautiful Wanaka views), in any weather. They required a roof system that would allow them to make the most of the weather on sunny days, but would also keep customers sheltered from the weather, should it rain.
Solution
We worked with the architect (Sorted Architecture) to supply opening louvre roofs and clear PVC blinds to enable much more versatile use of the outdoor room. When the weather is unfavourable everything can be closed and the heaters cranked up; when the weather is favourable everything can be opened and the room is like being in the outdoors.
